Ceratophyllum demersum, commonly known as Hornwort and also known as Coontail or rigid hornwort, is a background plant native to all continents expect Antartica. This unique plant is extremely easy to care for and can tolerate many different water parameters. This plant is easily in the top 3 of easiest plants to grow and successfully keep - it can also be grown as a floating plant.
Hornwort is a stem plant that grows extremely quickly and therefore should be trimmed regularly. It also provides great shelter for small fish, shrimp & fry!
It can be easily propagated by simply cutting of the stem and replanting it on the substrate.
Great for providing shelter to small fish.

I ordered hornwort from this shop and unfortunately had a poor experience. The order was placed Feb 22 but was not shipped until March 3. After shipping, the package spent several days sitting in another city in my state and wasn’t delivered until March 10.
Because this is a live aquatic plant, I reached out asking what would happen if it arrived in poor condition after such a long delay. Instead of reassurance or discussing solutions, the seller repeatedly told me to “wait and see” and referred me back to shop policies.
Communication became dismissive and I was eventually told to stop messaging them. When the plant arrived it showed clear stress from the extended transit.
Based on how this was handled, I won’t be purchasing from this shop again and would not recommend others buy from this seller.
Amazing people and the plant was gorgeous!
Hornwort was brown, but I was told that was normal! I received a lot of it!
Received a huge amount of this! I was able to split into three tanks. Thank you!
Thank you! It looks great in my aquarium
